I think it's times like these we realize a majority of Americans aren't so different. Trump winning in a landslide was proof of that. Take away the fraud, the number of people who voted early before watching the debates, the people that haven't realized they've swallowed the redpill and decided not to vote instead of voting Trump, or the people still brainwashed by the MSM and Big Tech that believe Trump is Hitler 2.0 even though his views align more with theirs than Biden's does.
Hollywood, MSM, and Big Tech create the far left monsters and then amplify them. If you pay attention to those three then you would think half of our country is gay, but in reality it's 2-4% (I'm sure those numbers have been inflated too). You would also think half the country wants to do away with cops and wants lawlessness, but in reality Trump won a larger percentage of black and latino votes because they opposed this. I could go on and on with this list.
Those three along with politicians are without a doubt the reason why tensions are so high in this country. There hasn't been some massive ideological change with a majority of the population, it's all been manufactured to divide us, and dividing us is the easiest way to conquer us.
