2009 I spent some time in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I was an EOD tech. I have never found a smarter and more capable group of people in my life. I will not either. These guys, maybe shy of astronauts, are the best humankind has to offer.

My team leader died in Afghanistan.

It's sad because the people who make it in corporations are pieces of shit, I know, I spent most of my life working in them, and the people in the Army are often smarter, more humble and have significantly more common sense

All anecdotal of course. There are records going back to 2010 of me calling the suicide hotline. No one would help me. I started to see a private psychiatrist about 2014. Finally, eventually, about two years ago the VA out of nowhere just started to cover everything.
I am the healthiest I have been "mentally" in a long time.
Sooner or later, we have to give it back. Let's give our life, and give them death.
