If Trump vetos the bill does the legislature vote to override? If so, can Trump stall on vetoing the bill until enough people are mad at their representatives for voting on the pos, that way maybe they will vote to not override his veto?
Maybe we can contact our reps some more about their apparent willingness to agree to something they never read...
My idea would have him sit on the bill until after the 6th. Then veto. If he wins at that point there is no way the Republicans cross him to override.
I don't know that he can stall that long. 10 days?
But he should wait as long as possible.
It is 10 days I guess...
Everyone just got reelected or voted out. They won't change their minds on the spending bill. Trump can take a symbolic stand against it, but that's it.
"override of a veto - The process by which each chamber of Congress votes on a bill vetoed by the President. To pass a bill over the president's objections requires a two-thirds vote in each Chamber. Historically, Congress has overridden fewer than ten percent of all presidential vetoes." I'd hope he vetoes, introduces a bill directed to Americans and not special interests and foreign governments.
At least waiting for him to veto, they have time to read it before they vote.
