Canned Food, for the "family"
Most cans that don't need a can opener are too thin for my tastes (say Spam). Could get damaged on the trip to DC and leak, etc.. - and if this is a celebration event, taking a "normal" can and a can-opener is just extra weight.
Canned corn beef (most seems to be from Brazil) in every supermarket with the little keys - - much better can, In the office, I love the stuff - and use a knife and fork to eat it - just for eating (no intent to harm - https://code.dccouncil.us/dc/council/code/sections/22-4514.html ).
Still makes sense to keep it it in its own bag, or a sock or something just in case it leaks (will be cold - packing a spare pair of heavy duty winter socks might b a good ideal).
I do swear that if I take it, I will have a 100% legit intention to eat the stuff (as I like it and it does not go bad).
