Neil teGrasse Tyson is a hack in my opinion he might be good in his field of study but his takes on culture, politics etc are dogshit most of the time

The guy is the poster boy to the appeal to false authority fallacy. When I want an opinion about general relativity, I'll listen to him. My doctor doesnt have a better political opinion about Mesopotamian culture than my plumber does just because the former has a medical degree. Biggest sign of a hack imo. Acting like an expert in one specific field makes you an authority on something unrelated.

You would think someone who was more intelligent, would also come with more skepticism and humility.

People who are experts in their field often don’t think they know all that much about their own field, let alone fields they don’t hold any credentials for.

When you know a lot about your own field, you learn new stuff every day... and you know that never ends
