The classic tyrant’s plan: Make everything illegal, then selectively enforce the law against political opponents.

With the full authority of the law, one party may choose to suddenly care about these minor or technical infractions, selectively enforcing the law upon their opponents and detractors, while allowing their supporters to continue breaking these innumerable minor laws without consequence. Thus, creating a privileged class of people who are quite literally ABOVE THE LAW. Furthermore, it is in this selective enforcement of the law that Tyranny can also reside.
