Degree is in exercise science with a minor in history. I am 5 classes into a master's in cyber security. Not the best paper resume but at the same time fuck that, 65% of Americans don't have a bachelor's. I'm pretty sure I'm not even getting fucking looks anymore even for places like the local storage warehouse. Please, for the love of God, someone tell me all the IT jobs are being filled by dot Indians and everything else is being filled with.... people that do not have the same paper qualifications that I do. I know it's fucking true. At this point, after 11 fucking months, I have absolutely no doubt I would have a job if I was black. Anyone else in this boat?

I have seen first white men, then basically any other not on the diversity train be kicked out of the big tech industry. Many of us are working for ourselves or based smaller companies. We need to be better at where money is spent. That is a big solution to this problem.
That's what I'm talking about. I've pretty much faced up to the fact that I'm going to have to start my own business if I (30 year old straight white male) want to have a job in IT in the future
I am 47 and it is not easy but finding the right company or contract is the key. There are still a lot of us out there, keep fighting and your will succeed
Thanks. Unfortunately it seems the best route is burying my face in books the next year. Do you know the market for independent infosec contractors? Ideally I would like to start my own thing asap considering the market will skyrocket soon
