I disagree with that assessment... the immediate challenge is generating Republican turn-out for the run-off vote despite the voters feeling publicly fucked-over by their own State gov. to the point THEY have been convinced there is no hope. Shifting the public focus and emphasis away from the Presidential race to the coming run-off is tactically sound.
