This was very informative..thank you. I'll admit I'm fairly ignorant of what's going on exactly over there. May I ask if UKIP is doing anything at all? Do they even matter? We don't get to hear truth over here sadly. But I've heard mentioned a new party called UKIP?
UKIP pretty much died once Farage left to form the Brexit Party (now Reform UK). Think UKIP still get the odd local councillor occasionally but it doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things anymore.
I try to follow politics in various countries. I don't live in the UK.
As far as I know, UKIP is dead in the water. UKIP was around for a while, but gained more steam when Nigel Farage took the reigns and worked to get the country out of the EU. Following the successful 2016 Brexit vote, Farage left UKIP, pretty much thinking his job was done. Since Farage was such a massive driving force for the party, and Brexit appearing certain, UKIP struggled to find its future identity and footing without him.
When, under new leadership, UKIP didn't do well in the 2018 elections, they seemed to shatter further over the party's direction and leadership. Lots of people left, I believe. The current new leadership doesn't appear very strong and there doesn't look to be much cohesiveness among those who remain. I don't think they even have an official party leader at the moment.
Right now there doesn't really appear to be any strong nationalist populace option in the UK.
I think Farage is still in control of the Brexit Party. Brexit is the party's only concern. While Brexit is important, it's about all Farage seems to fight for. He doesn't seem willing to take on other fights for his country. He's not like Trump.
Brexit Party are in the process of rebranding to Reform UK and are fielding candidates in all elections next year (local, police and crime commissioner, London mayor etc). Focus on abolishing the upper house, tackling immigration, ending state funding of BBC and reducing taxes among many other things.

I see. I hadn't heard about this. Thank you. Hopefully this will be the move in the right direction and give positive results.
