Cruz has always been, so far as I can tell, one of the original and most consistent dissenters in voice and practice. I don’t think he’s stealing anything. He was the same pre trump as he is now. I know we have trust issues but he will vote his conscience at least. I agree we need action but I think we will get it from some people. Not enough but at least Cruz.
I agree, except I think he's changed a little through the Trump years. I think he's secretly admired Trump and beginning to imitate Trump's best characteristics. I think Cruz sees what we see in Trump and he's allowed himself to grow on that. I think Cruz is a better man now, like Trump's protégé.
I totally agree. He’s loosened up a lot and become bolder. I don’t know if I’d call him a protege as he’s been fighting in the trenches of the senate for many years but I think on a level he’s been inspired by Trump’s brazenness and personal power and presence. Trump has a way of taking charge of everything and I think Cruz has suddenly realised he can maybe be more assertive than he had been.
