What about all the landlords that have being eating people's rent for months on end. Around September I was looking to rent a new place. I found a nice place but I was uncomfortable with all the income verification the guy wanted. Super intrusive and not what I was used to giving. Turns out he had just finally tossed out a couple that since April have not been paying any rent. Dude had to eat $6,500. I can only imagine how bad it has gotten for people that have been relying on rent to pay their mortgages.
