§2381. Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

It's lenient for a reason. A lot of treason is soft treason or stupidity. The immediate concern is getting them out of being in a position where they can do harm. There's a subjective element to treason as well which also wrestles with things like the 1st amendment.
The problem is the kind of treason we're now seeing is moving rapidly toward the line then up against the wall and shoot them sort on national TV.
The problem is that by the time it reaches this point you have to let them take control of everything to show the people just how bad they really are. Yes that's a communist dictator and first lady shot live on national TV (he was singing the internationale up until the moment he was shot). That's what's in store for you if you have a Biden/Kamala presidency.
The thing is, people like Trump, the rest of us, etc are fighting them an shielding everyone else from them so they have no idea how bad they really are.
Well AOC already made an amendment to the bill for $2k. But no mention of the money laundering removal. Now Trump is going to look like the bad guy for being all talk and no game when he says he's not going to to sign this bill either because it still contains money laundering. And the media will just spin it, "Trump goes back on his word!"
Edit: But GEOTUS anticipated that. That's why he took great care to put out a video and personally spend 3 minutes listing out all that foreign bullshit. And only spend 5 seconds: "Make it 2k and remove all the bullshit."
How can a bill be amended after everyone has voted on it? wouldn't it have to go for a revote? How else would uou know everyone agreed with the amendment?
