Think the 44 is on accident, or an homage to Obama, whom likely wrote the bill?

Good catch and wouldn't doubt it's intentional. These people love their symbolism.

PurestEvil 6 points ago +6 / -0

I really thought for a long time it was coincidental, but at this point I wonder if they don't have some shared fetish for it. It's not uncommon for game developers to put in "Easter Eggs", which is essentially the same. It's something even I thought about doing - little things more dedicated players could figure out.

Be reminded that the money amounts in the bill are purely arbitrary. Some fucktards just made up some numbers and then they agreed to it internally while sucking each other's dicks.

Please. Obama isn’t capable of writing a bill like that. He can’t even speak well without a teleprompter. He is the second biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people, this last election is #1.

They need stimulus because they all united with their friends to purge Trump.

A 5000 page long document they only got 2 hours to read and no standard rules like "yes" means apply changes while "no" means keep everything as it is. Yea, this is how corruption is hidden in plain sight. Same shit has been going on in EU since it's beginning.

Don't presidents get paid for life? I feel like I remember reading that they get ~200K each year for life.

SouthernParadise 20 points ago +20 / -0

Former presidents receive a pension equal to the pay that the head of an executive department (Executive Level I) would be paid; as of 2020, it is $219,200 per year. The pension begins immediately after a president's departure from office

Retired Presidents are also eligible for additional benefits:

  • Office Space and Staffing Allowances: Starting six months after a President leaves office, the General Services Administration (GSA) provides funding to establish, furnish, and staff an official office anywhere in the U.S.
  • Travel Expenses: Chief Executives and up to two staff members are reimbursed for up to $1 million in costs annually. Spouses of former Presidents also are eligible for up to $500,000 per year for security and official travel.
  • Health Benefits: Provided that they had been enrolled in the Federal Employees Health Benefits program for at least five years, former Presidents are eligible for health annuities, similar to all federal employees. (Jimmy Carter is ineligible because he only served a single term and did not hold another federal position.)
  • Funerals: Presidents are guaranteed a ceremony with full honors and the option to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
  • Secret Service Protection: Presidents are eligible for lifetime protection. The related costs are classified

Net worth of former presidents (only 4 are living):

  • First, "poor" peanut farmer Jimmy Carter at 96 years of age: $8m
  • Clinton: $80m+ (I guarantee it is MUCH more than this)
  • GW: $40m+
  • Obama: $130m+

But we pay for all of their protection, staff, etc. and they get the pension as salary until they die (then their widows get half that until THEY die)

And now they need some more money from all those wealthy commoners, its just not enough!

The tree of liberty is getting SO THIRSTY, it is about to die. It must be watered or it will fall.

I think it’s absurd that we continue to do this. It may have been truly beneficial in the distant past, but that was before politicians went into office as normies and came out as millionaires.

I'll have an answer to that why sometime around Christmas if you are really curious.

Right now I am busy figuring out the copywrite section and how it will impact content creators and memes.

Then on to NDAA to take a closer look at the whole IA thing, and a few other things.

Damned congress just has to drop massive piles of radioactive steaming dog snot in a holiday week when we are gearing up for a move. Asshats.

For staff and expenses, actually doesn't seem to be overkill. Think about all those salaries, hotels, per diem, car rentals, insurance, gas, flights, hookers, blow...

I used to have Gov contractor gig and still have nightmares over the paperwork and expenses. That being said, best gig I've ever had between pay, bennies and autonomy.

donutreplyplz 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s not a “stimulus” bill, it’s the yearly spending bill that has some $pare change for us American citizens, aka the “Covid relief”, built into it. This is why Nancy waited, so no one would wanna be filibustering relief to US while getting away with being so wanton with their other shit in the budget, and this is ALSO why she says “once Biden is in office” they’ll give us “more”

They pay for Bill Clinton's cigars, George Ws pet monkey, and Obama's face wax.

1

We gotta pay for Big Mike’s face wax?

1
NvCrone 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's because we once had an honest President. After his term he went home broke. That was considered an embarrassment. Ergo a lifetime basic income.

I see. Where did you read that the $4.4M is divided between all former presidents?
