I have my suspicions that a lot of the resistance he faces domestically and from international leaders is due to fear he will “start” a war/outright hostility with China (more then currently), sort of appeasement. They would rather just let China run everyone over rather then resist them. I still think China might do something ref Taiwan if it looks like Trump will pull it out, better to wait for them to instigate or after the election is won or lost for sure.
