Did you know that the Cincinnati Airport was in Kentucky? That's one reason for all of the traffic across the bridge.

4
LetsUnfuckAmerica 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep. CGV is the call sign, which stands for Covington KY, but it's actually in Hebron KY.

Most people from the north part of Cincinnati take 275W to the airport. Same distance, no traffic, and you don't have to go over that bridge.

2
Trump_in_2020_Pedes 2 points ago +2 / -0

Appears that Delta has quit using the airport as a hub.

Trump_in_2020_Pedes 2 points ago +2 / -0

I used to fly through there a lot because it used to be a hub for Delta.

We pay those politicians for what again? Annnnd they out a $57,000 raise for themselves. GTFO

4
20KAG20 4 points ago +4 / -0

Where’s the source on this raise?

3
BillGateCanSuckIt 3 points ago +3 / -0

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tI2OYcRhZOU

Originally I read it on a post here on .win

Per fox it's only $5000 raise. When I get some more time, I'll look into it further. Still unhappy with it though.

1
BillGateCanSuckIt 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ok, took me a few days

But $25,000,000 / 435 members in the house = ~$57,000

block that raise - label them non-essential. Send them packing without the golden parachute of benefits due to the pandemic. Penalty goes both ways.

PillarOfWisdom 31 points ago +32 / -1

I sure wish GEOTUS would veto the turd bill. Sending it back to raise the checks to Americans from $600 to $2000 keeps the money laundering "foreign aid in place. He could show pictures like this to make his case and keep asking "whose side are they on?"

#WhoseSideAreTheyOn

Exactly! Foreign aid is all money laundering & kickbacks.

Im tired of it all. Instead of nursing all these piece of shit nations for the past several decades we could have spent that money much much more wisely. Our rail system is an absolute joke. Amongst the bridges, roads etc.

24
sir_rockness 24 points ago +24 / -0

Our rail system, bridges, schools, small towns, mail delivery... Everything is a fucking joke... many parts of my state look like a 3rd world country

15
Kingoftheroad 15 points ago +15 / -0

It's still amazingly shocking to me to see areas of even major cities here looking more dilapidated and run down than some parts of third world countries...and how they've always said they can't find money to fund projects like this bridge, but this year, miraculously, they've been able to find billions in Canada and trillions in the U.S. since the China Virus.

12
sir_rockness 12 points ago +12 / -0

I'm not even talking about the cities. We have one city in Kentucky and while there's parts of it I love, overall its shit.

I'm talking about the countless towns that have been destroyed by greed. I'm not just talking about greed of politicians and corporations... I'm talking about greed of our countrymen.

I'm not that old but I remember privately owned enterprise all over our small towns and now there are many businesses, especially retail that are impossible to be in... all because of cheap shit flowing in from China... and when I say shit... I mean shit. We've sold our entire livelihood down the river so we can buy a bunch of cheap shit.

6
Kingoftheroad 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ohhh, yes. I've noticed it's near impossible to find anything that is made in Canada or the U.S. and it's all shitty quality goods from China, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Pakistan.

1
NerBolanski 1 point ago +2 / -1

It just doesn't make sense how much politicians steal. I was arguing with two friends today about the relief bill. They were blaming Trump and going full anti-Trump. I asked them why Pelosi rejected the covid stand-alone relief checks of 1,800 to American citizens. ? They also lied that illegal aliens didn't receive benefits during this pandemic; they kept lying so blatantly about the illegal aliens that It got heated and I stopped talking with them because they had no points.

7
Squeaker 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's like CA. Our roads are absolutely shit, but they are building a choo choo train that nobody will use and that's costing a fortune...all to pad some politicians pockets.

3
MAGA_Flocka_Flame 3 points ago +3 / -0

The proposed high speed rail going along i5?

2
dianabrown1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Correct and it started a long time ago in CA with gov. Brown in Ca.

1
Squeaker 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well the train did...but the padding of the pockets and sleazy politicians have been going on far longer. Gray Davis was no Saint.

It's owned by Kentucky, and it's dangerous. It has traveled lanes from edge to edge, with no breakdown lanes at all.

McConnell has no problem sending billions cash in $100 bills to who god knows who in shithole-astan, year after year.

Meanwhile, the taxpayers from his own state (and others) who drive over that bridge daily all get to hope they aren't the next vehicle to breakdown on the bridge and end up with a 18 wheeler crammed 3 feet up their asshole.

Yup. Watched a documentary a while back called "Infrastructure USA". After watching it, I went out of my way not to drive over any bridges. It was pretty shocking.

3
goone 3 points ago +3 / -0

What the fuck is this? Take chunks of the bridge and throw it in front of their offices.

3
pepperconchobhar 3 points ago +3 / -0

YES! ^THIS^

I was REALLY looking forward to a $1T infrastructure bill! The JOBS, man! The damn JOBS!! We would've seen a shot in the ass of the economy like we haven't seen in a half of a century.

Drove across this thing 3 times today. Butthole puckered so tight it tore a hole in my undies.

2
Erosluv 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is a pretty similar description of the I-5 bridge between Washington and Oregon. They have been talking about replacing it for decades now. The feds even gave the states millions to do "studies" on what's needed to get it done. Still no new bridge.

No foreign AID UNTIL USA IS RESTORED, PERIOD. NO EXCEPTIONS. AMERICA FIRST. Every obstacle removed without delay. Under the umbrella of national defense. DO IT.

2
JwPATX 2 points ago +2 / -0

Aside from funding, my guess is that they’re like the morons in Austin, where their concern is how bad traffic will be if they close the bridge..

obama said he would rebuild this bridge in 2011.. thanks obama

1
LetsUnfuckAmerica 1 point ago +1 / -0

He said if he got his bill passed it was ready to be replaced. His bill didn't get passed, and he lied- it was nowhere near shovel ready. I don't even think concept planning of the replacement bridge location and ramp routing was even complete.

Fuck, if they can close it for a month, why not just close it for a year and replace it in place with a wider bridge. That's the hardest and most expensive part, keeping it open, building a replacement next to it (acquiring the ROW for that), then shifting all the ramps and lanes over to the new bridge (more ROW acquisitioning).

Wait, aren’t roads and bridges funded by local (state) money? Either way just privatize it and add a toll to pay for improvements.
