To be fair, I think people in this case are realizing that the gov't doesn't have their best interests at heart. It's not so much the $2000, but moreso that Trump has his priorities straight. He doesn't serve corporate masters, like the elites/leftists do.
My brother is a flaming Trump hater (lives in a leftist bubble) but even he is starting to wise up that these lockdowns/COVID bill help corporatings/special interests and hurt the small businesses he loves so much.
Leftist ideology is incompatible w/ values like caring, community, and gov't for the people. More people will realize this is w/in the coming weeks.
