Make sure that you get the Waze app which will be helpful, especially as you get closer to DC. The traffic can get pretty snarly the closer you get to rush hour. Getting from Charlotte to 95 is all highway, so it's not a hard drive. I95 can be kinda stressful, because it's heavily trafficked with 18 wheelers. I'd printout some maps to have just incase. It would be rare to have a snowstorm that would affect driving. I went to college in Raleigh, and any snow we had was pretty much in February.
