Thoughts?
Currently —————— Trump 232 Biden 306
Az 11 Ga 16 Mi 16 Nv 6 Nm 5 Pa 20 Wi 10 ———- 84
538-84 =454 available electoral votes of those “appointed “ ( from 12th ammendment)
454/2 = 227 So 228 required to have majority of those “appointed”
Trump has 232, biden now has 306-84 = 222
Trump wins 232 over biden 222 of those appointed
Trump would never leave it to the us house or senate, bc hed never win, this way eliminates that potentiality.
Its actually quite simple.
Biden “has” 306 but I get what you’re saying
Thanks ill edit, and change the math
"Appointed", the way I understand it, is the electors that each party appointed earlier in the year. Total of 538. In the 12th amendment it says:
The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and** if no person have such majority**, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. **
If no person have such majority. It doesn't say only if they're tied. And it says whole number of electors appointed. There were 538 electors appointed. They all cast votes Dec 14th. If some of those votes are tossed out, there are still 538 that were appointed.
That makes sense to me, what do you think?
Yes, so since he has the most, he wins, amd since he has the majority he wins. Thats how i read that too. The key word is “appointed”. The contested ones are thrown out and no longer considered. Basically reducing the overall amount to,achieve a lower number and majority.
