It’s a profession just like any other. The biggest difference is the amount kowtowing to vocal minorities is astronomical. In Ed college they had me believing some of this shit and even a semblance of white guilt (I realized it was actually white savior complex I was staring to feel). After a few years, the mirage is revealed and most teachers quit, decide to start their families and need real money, or stay on to actually teach instead of pushing bullshit that the new recruits, corrupt politicians (bought by textbook companies) and liberal school board members decide is important.
Oh, and the fact that we only get employment 10months a year. I say that to avoid the $ debate, because if they let me work year round I would make 20% more and complain about 50% less :)
