Except people won't be paying attention to the news on Christmas. It's like how they always release bad news on Friday. If you want it to get traction, you do it on a monday and then let it fester all week.
You're right about normal Fridays, but holidays are special. I'm not saying they'll do it before Christmas, but that is a day popular for Republican news releases. They like to be the talk at the family dinner table.
