Lol. I despised him for most of my life because I never heard him speak and just viewed him as an obnoxious rich prick. Then, a few years before the 2016 election, I saw a documentary on him and liked the way he raised his kids. Then, I started watching interviews from the 80s-90s and realized I had been wrong the whole time. On talk shows, he was very quiet, almost shy and was saying the same things about money, politics, war, immigration, etc. that he says today - all of which I agree with. So I think he developed a stage persona, maybe to deal with shyness and the despicable press, and he is such a good actor that I believed it.
