So no more going to big corporate stores (wal mart, target, costco, etc) and no more amazon. Instead, go to a locally owned or at least a francized establishment. If 73.6 million Americans did this...should put a dent in the big guy and boost the little guy. Tell me I'm wrong!

I have noticed that as well...most things are like a week now. never thought about it...why is that? just didnt reverse after covid stuff???
The landfills would stop being filled with toxic ewaste.
you are right....stealing toxic ewaste jobs from the hard working Chinese!!! lol
Buy local and from family-owned or small businesses. STOP using Twitter and FB.
Shit yeah...dont have a twitter and gave up with the cold space of FB....
Same here. Never had Twitter and cancel F-book a long time ago. I hate these big tech ingrates and all their “woke” employees😡
woke....when did being enlightened go out of style? Lol
Exactly! Merry Christmas—TRUMP 1/6/21
we are starting to see many business revolt and open against the "rules". if more ppl spent money it may motivate other business to open? but right, the your point is the shit part of the situation....sadly
while i agree. there are things i need and some places are not setup yet, for direct from factory delivery.
i think society is getting there.
many of my neighbors already raise chickens and grow vegetables and herbs in their gardens.
if my area committed to solar concentrated steam stirling cycle, and told the water
and energy company to fuck off, i bet they would storm us like a davidian camp...
i could probably design and manufacture a 3D laser melt catalyst from non-rare-earth metals, for hydrogen
but someone needs to make the powder first... and im unsure about the price point and reliability of GKN's metal hydride powders...
i digress, anyway.
yes. we should move towards being more self reliant and less consumer-prone
not sure if this is a my area thing but even a CSA (community supported agriculture or farm to table) is a great investment for good food! the direct from factory is something I have been looking at more....didnt know that 3d printing material was made in the usa...but there are at least 2 manf...will shop with them directly!!
You have not yet?
I stopped in 2015. I buy second hand, local or...I just dont need it.
I saved enough to buy land in the mountains and a small cabin.
I will never live like I did before 2015...and I dont miss it.
I did stop but it was rather recent...like a month ago. I still find that I must go through some sort of corp but still working on finding alternatives. PS, I love thrift stores, I just dont like goodwill....do you know, am I wrong on that?
probably about 2015, I bought my cabin in the woods. fully heated off a wood boiler and have been building the tools for things like gardening and stuff! totally glad I did this now!!!
Why would anyone tell you that you're wrong? This is something that everyone should be doing already.
It would work but it would be nice if locally owned businesses were more educated about the potential they have... They could run rings around big box stores and thus a more enjoyable customer experience. This would kill two birds with one stone. Big box stores losing their monopoly and locally growing again with the goal to stick around.
give them that feedback next time you go to one!!! I agree, the helpfulness of a small handyman's shop is way better than the college kid at home depot. I love great customer experiences even if the product purchasing is shit. small shops have more empathy (well, in most cases...some are just ass's).
