Most teachers are some form of liberal and not the brightest bulbs, they have no clue how to teach children to think critically and care more about their time off and showing how caring they supposedly are because they teach kids. I was going to be an educator and I couldn't stand the administration let alone my peers. I also question why on earth elementary school teachers require a college degree, you should be leagues ahead of these kids. But instead, their college courses look like 5 year old craft projects...

I live in a small New England town where I knew most of the School Board members personally when my kids were in school. Most of the teachers were truly dedicated.

They probably belonged to unions, but you would never know it.

I think that's an interesting point - small towns tend to be different in a lot of ways. In fact, they taught us that it was so crucial for inner city schools to get all the funding, but to ignore rural schools. My husband is from a small town and based on his stories, their school desperately needed funding and attention too.

I do believe some teachers and aministrators are dedicated, but my personal experience growing up in a suburb is that's not generally the case. Or they are dedicated with the wrong intent.

The whole leftist shtick is "Get Mine - Fuck You". That's really all there is to it. Everything they do can be traced back to that simple philosophical dead end.

Soros and lefties spend money to elect school board members for a reason. They are playing the long-game.

Get active in local politics, and 15 years from now my grandson might not graduate from high school in a brown shirt.

Politics is local.

All teachers do is ask for a raise. They compare their salaries to people that work all year then complain. I’d be ok with merit based bonuses but no more raises.

That is wrong and right at the same time.

The problem is the fucking unions who insist salary and promotion be based on tenure on the job rather than competence as a teacher.

No US Education Secretary can turn this around. This has to be addressed at the local level.
