Got to hate the participation trophies to some degree[personally a whole lot], but on some level I do understand the need for it for those that just don't have any talent or ability in things they are not meant for.
That’s insightful. When I was young playing baseball, we were wicked competitive. I would be nervous the night before a game, we practiced like hell and winning was awesome and losing was a bad damn day.
Not having all the hard work rewarded with a win would have been demoralizing to me for sure.
I believe They instill a confidence in mediocrity. American Idle is what I think participating trophies cause. People who are delusional because they were never told they aren’t talented.
Everyone has some small talent they can take advantage of. They simply need to find what it is. Giving them false hope keeps them from ever finding their true talent.
