Because I have known Edward Snowden since 2004. He is married to my best friend. There is a lot that the general public does not know and far more that they think they know which is completely untrue.
I'm a little skeptical, but even if you do know him, that doesn't really mean all that much. Snowden is a master manipulator and liar. All those guys are. I doubt you actually know the things you know. Like, have seen evidence to corroborate it.
I can't say whose side Snowden is on, or what he wants, but I do not think he is being totally honest. All someone has to do is watch that interview with Joe Rogan, or really any interview with him to see how weird and fake his personality is. Again, I don't know what his motives are, so I won't actually impugn him, but you don't know either. Nobody really does. He could easily be loyal to the CIA and you'd have no idea.
Ed’s personality is weird on camera because Ed is weird. This is a dude who spent his early twenties playing RPG board games with other socially dysfunctional people. Some of those 160+ IQ autists on 4chan aren’t LARPs. He doesn’t like publicity or being in front of cameras. Ed was a dude doing the right thing. Both of them are Ron Paul - type diehard libertarians. He was an IT/networking guy, not the person hacking machines, gathering data and analyzing/reporting. I know with absolute certainty that he had planned on exposing illegal government activities for years and advanced his career for the purpose of doing that... for the good of the public, not the CIA, not himself.
FWIW, I did not like him until the leak. I thought he was weird as fuck but he was dating my bestie. He earned my respect.
