What charity can you trust not to have a bloated administration staff that absorbs 60 - 90% of your donation anyways? From Wounded Warrior to Susan B. Komen to Red Cross they all are just cushy jobs for grifters who like to live high on the hog off donations from people who think they are supporting worthy causes. It's literally sickening.
Yes sir, donating food to the local shelter and even giving money directly to the homeless at traffic lights (big city fag here) is my preferred routes for donations.
In my town, most of these folks panhandling at intersections are professionals, and ignorant people handing out money just attracts more con artists. That’s not meant to be an attack on those generous people (like you)—they just don’t know better. Agreed with below comment that Salvation Army is a good option. Merry Christmas!

THIS.
Foundations and charity's are the biggest grift going. Six and seven figure salaries to head these organizations is beyond ridiculous.
Many have DOZENS making six figure salaries beneath the top job.
I try and keep it local, or individually, at this point.
Like so much of our culture, corrosion, grift, lack of ethics and nepotism has tarnished these organizations.
