The Hong Kong flu killed an estimated 1-4M people worldwide. It's a pretty wide range because tracking it all over the world at the time was impossible. Yet, not a single business was closed for even a day. Concerts and sporting events went on as usual.

The lock downs were a mistake from day 1.
