Back to where it’s WEIRD to say hi or to say a prayer for someone. Back to the cliques and the materialism. Back to a shit economy, with shit for jobs, skyrocketing housing, rich people who laugh at poor people and a governor who’s a virtue signaling karma whore to the very people who don’t give a single fuck about him.

Because, quite simply put, their psychosis doesn't allow them to accurately understand what happiness is.
Psychotics have a highly skewed view of reality, inconsistent with objective reality. Their emotional landscape is similarly skewed. So they are caught in a toxic situation where they firmly believe they should be "happy", due to the cognitive dissonance. And when what is left of their minds and emotions rebels against that, it makes them miserable. And when they allow themselves to experience actual happiness, they get really pissed off, because the damaged part of them sees it as wrong.
So in order to get any peace, they retreat back into their psychosis, wherever they happen to be. This is why mass migration from blue to red areas is a really bad thing. As a general rule, you don't want to live with lunatics.
Studies have shown that libs have suffered more mental issues than cons, especially young white females (Karen's effect.) It is why so many other states don't like people moving from the lib states because they will push for the same BS that they ran away from.
