I was so heartbroken about Ron Paul I checked out of politics completely. It was too painful for me to have seen the corruption of the MSM and RNC and I couldnt unsee it.
He was never really a power hungry Rino. Just an easy target for the media to demonize because of his somewhat wonkish personality and poor ability to name legislation. Thus he wasn't really as effective as he should have been. Too much of a wonky nerd.
Newt is an intellectual. Always has been. He understands reality not some idealized rose tinted one that the far left has and understands the Dems unquenchable thirst for power.
Newt's always been a patriot. Know him from way back in Young Republicans in 93-95... Bought me my first drink in public (no where near 21 yet) but he probably didn't realize it. Was off a pitcher of Rum Runners at Taco Mac in Roswell. Good Times.
Newt is a historian by trade. He didn't come from the usual lawyer class like most politicians. He ran for office originally because he loves this country from a deep understanding of its historical roots. Sure, he got caught up in plenty of Washington dirty dealing and the like...nobody becomes Speaker if they don't play the game at least some.
But he's never been the typical establishment type. He made waves in the 90s, and he has continued to do so. And he might have been skeptical of Trump initially, but he's on board with him now.
He also actually understands the Constitution and knows Trump has a solid path to victory, so why back out on him now?
Never would have thought Newt Fucking Gingrich would be helping the cause, but here we are
You must read Mere Christanity, Pilgrims Progess, and the actual King James Bible cover to cover.
Newt was always the republican grandpa I never had.
Newt has definitely aged well.
I was much younger when Clinton was POTUS, but I remember Newt from back then.
I am surprised he turned out to NOT be a swamp rat... surprised and pleased.
It's because he taught history and knows the constitution unlike obama the "constitutional scholar."
Everyone should look up when Chris Farley larped as Newt on the Congress floor. It was pretty funny and Newt loved it
In this moment, all of the swamp is laid bare to see, we need those lists to never support those people ever again, and then we can finally MAGA.
The guy just likes women. A LOT.
There were many years where I hated him because he would hate on Ron Paul so much. He is making up some ground with me now though.

The guy got the pubs the majority in the house with his contract with America for first time in 60 years or so. He’s a pretty damn stellar guy.
He is a big American history buff, too.
PHD in History if I recall. Doesn't call himself "Doctor" like that home wrecker married to Sleepy Joe.
