I disagree. that whole thing was a giant ponzy scheme and his advice sucked. It was his economy and his economic advisors. Its his job to know.

no there was massive fraud with the ratings agencies on board bundling junk CDO's as AAA investment grade offerings. The economy was ruined by this when it was revealed to be a house of cards.
The people in the housing market were getting paid huge sums of money to sell mortgages to people who had no means of paying. It was far from just bad policy. It was fraud.
