Marxism Led to the Abolition of Private Property Ownerships in China
The father of communism Karl Marx says in his Manifesto of the Communist Party "The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."
It seems Marxism or socialism is popular again among some young people. They believe socialism will give them justice, equality and everything for free. They believe this because they have never been forced to live under a socialistic system. Americans would be horrified at the injustices and hardships forced upon them. For years people around the world living under socialist regimes have risked everything, including their lives to escape their countries for the United States for freedom and the free-market system. WHY? Here is just one example of a friend family’s story, which happened in Shanghai, China, when Marxism showed up.
In 1942, living inside the French district of Shanghai, China, which was relatively safe. There, the Li family’s two brothers Wen and Tu, with their wives and 8 children, finally moved into their co-owned new house. Wen, 50, was an accountant at a printing company, while Tu, 47, was working on an assembly line at the same company. With 25 years of savings and money borrowed, they became first time homeowners. They packed their kids in fewer rooms in order to have 6 rooms to rent. They hoped by doing this they could pay off their debt sooner, though they could only collect a few yuan monthly for each room.
Year after year, the two brothers and their wives worked extra hours every day at a factory and grew and sold vegetables in surrounding neighborhoods. Even the teenage children from the family all joined the workforce.
But, two children in the family learned Marxism then and liked the idea, and they helped the CCP to overthrow the old Chinese capitalism system in 1949.
In 1949, the Li family finally paid off all debts and became 100% homeowners. Then the same year, Marxism CCP (Chinese Communist Party) came to town. CCP told the Shanghai people that under their leadership, the Chinese people would be the real masters of their country and many people believed that, even two young members of the Li family. But just at the time the two brothers retired living on the modest rent they received, and both were welcoming their new born grandkids in 1954, CCP suddenly announced a socialism policy, which abolished all private property ownership including businesses, houses, land, and the CCP government would take over all ownership. So, from then on, the Li family no longer owned their house, or the land they inherited from their parents. And they could no longer collect any rent. To make matters worse, they were forced to pay property taxes to the CCP. By then, they did not have any income, and they became dependent upon their grown children, who could barely take care of themselves and their children. The two young Li’s family members who had supported the CCP had never thought that the CCP would rob them of their homes and livelihood under the so called “justice & equality” slogans.
The Li family’s experience was shared by millions of families who were living in China. the former Soviet Union and East Germany, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela and wherever Marxism/socialism shows up. Marxists, Stalin & Mao and their successors called on people to stop practicing their religions, remove all traces of religious traditions, monuments and statues. The only “God” the socialist government wanted recognized was the communist party. Under the name of “justice” and “equality”, they have been controlling not only all resources robbed from their people, but also the people’s thinking and speech. People cannot think or say anything against the government without fear of repercussions. Socialism is just another word for slavery. No matter how hard you work or how hard you try there is no way to better your life or conditions. The worst loss is your freedom, your liberty. The very reason, people from all over the world come to the United States of America. The young people of this country today have never lived under oppression or the total injustices people bear under socialistic regimes.
So, all of you who think these things could never happen in America, think again. Look what is happening right now in the streets of our biggest cities; the socialist teachings in our colleges and universities, even in grades K-12. This is how it began in all the countries where socialism took over. Think, read, study history, make yourself aware of what actually happens under socialist regimes before you throw away the best form of government in the history of the world. We all want to fight to make things better, but turning to Marxism/ socialism will be the end of America, the one country the whole world flocks to for a better life and above all, freedom.
