Have faith and never deny the Father. No good deed can save you, you must be forgiven for the sin.

you're using "no good deed can save you" as an oblique defense against giving all resources to the poor as Our Lord Savior Jesus decreed?

You were asking what a Christian should do, and I was saying that there is nothing in the Bible that says you have to do anything other than believe in the Father and proclaim Jesus as the savior of the elect. Everything else are examples of how you should live, but it ultimately is up to God who is saved and it's not based on good deeds

what is that an evangelical perspective? I've never heard anybody say that Jesus doesn't say you have to be a good person in addition to "being saved". i can pull some bible verses for you if you like. something about a camel and a needle is coming to mind.

Yeah, he says it's easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than for a man to earn a spot in Heaven by good deeds. He is saying that you cant go to Heaven based on how good you were.

People who feel truly convicted and have been blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit will ultimately lead decent lives because it's part of who they are. Your deeds are evidence of your faith, not vice versa.

I dont know what you are getting by saying we should just give everything we have to someone else.

the word of Jesus Christ. have you read the bible or you just think Joel Osteen is hot?

Joel who? I would destroy my family by giving away all of my resources to survive, and that would make me a major failure as the head of the family unit. Jesus isn't telling me to self-destruct in the name of charity, I dont know why you would think that is anywhere near a logical conclusion when you have the entire context of the Bible and Christian faith, which you obviously dont have
