Threaten to go to a different hospital and they'll be afraid to lose that money

Bossmus 14 points ago +15 / -1

No they don't give a shit, trust me. And she's already in a room, ie accruing charges. Sorry!

pretty sure they already got the covid funding on signed entry documents.

not if your wife is already in the delivery room hooked up to monitors. not only is it almost logistically impossible at that point. even if you do manage to get upstairs to the labor dept, get her outta there, and somehow find another hospital to go to, you will forever look like the asshole from your wife. not worth it if you ask me. its a zero-sum game and you will forever be the dickhead.

My wife wouldn't see me as an asshole cuz she wouldn't want to put up with that shit

Currently 8 months pregnant. I completely agree. My husband would be the hero in this situation, certainly not an asshole.

FluhanWu 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same. My wife would not want to be stuck in some prison like that.

Don't do home birth your first time.

To much to go wrong with massive consequences.

FluhanWu 11 points ago +12 / -1

Just a heads up to others. I looked into this. If you don’t do home birth first time, and are not careful, you may never be able to do home birth.

Why? C-section is the method of choice for many Doctors. It helps them reduce liability (to be fair in USA we are land of the lawsuit), plus it helps they get to charge your insurance a bit more.

Not too much wrong with this. Fairly harmless so far. Except. Recovery takes much longer. Oh and if you get a C-section once, they will 100% recommend you get a C-section for the next kid. One overly cautious Dr leads to a lifetime subscription of C-sections. They practically tell you it’s required because it was done the first time, regardless of circumstances.

Not hating on C-sections. Just like I don’t hate medical masks. I only hate unnecessary ones.

Yes!! And do a natural birth without drugs. It's the way the lord intended ✝️

The_kool_mom 15 points ago +16 / -1

I normally support natural medicine 100% but both me and my baby would've died if I'd have gone the midwife route. Ended up with emergency c section when baby's heart rate dropped after I pushed for 9 hours.

When my wife delivered our girls (1st and 3rd) both deliveries took about 10 minutes. Didn't have time for drugs the first time, and I delivered my daughter in my hallway the last time.

No drugs needed.

My son on the other hand, she was in labor for so long the drugs wore off and they couldn't give her more.

Hospital aren't private as a massive bulk of their funding is from the state

ok toughguy, lemme know how it works for you. i dislike this whole shenanigans as much as the next guy, but it aint gonna work. im not gonna miss my child being born next week because some security guard wants to go on a powertrip. i only get one chance to be around for this, im not going to fuck it up being an internet tough guy.

so you send me a link of a woman who is telling me im a fucking retard. thanks. you are acting like i dont completely agree with you regarding covid. obviously i think its complete horseshit, i wouldnt be on this site if i didnt. i havent worn a mask in public unless i go into a public place. i fucking hate it, i go to sacramento and protest, i do my part for this cause. in the bay area, this is about as good as i can do, and certainly more than other people. come here to the belly in the beast and do better than i have. i've held signs, i've defended myself in a maga hat. when it comes to my child being born, i'll play ball to make sure my child is born safely. if that means i have to wear a goddamn mask to satisfy the idiots then so be it. there are many hills to die on, this one isnt it when my kid is being born. any other time, i'm game, but not this time.

if you dont understand at this point, i dont know what to tell you. you must not have kids. or a heart. cmon man!?

Awesome video. She's my Hero of the Day!

5
MrSkyhawkPoopPans 5 points ago +5 / -0

No, no. That's not how this works. The hospital is private property, it's NOT public property. It doesn't matter where the do funding comes from.

OrangeCatBad 0 points ago +1 / -1

Historically it does An entitiy that A. Doesn't have a single owner or family own B. Is finance or recieve capital not from that individual or family or thru the sell of products or service thru the private market. Is consider public. Only in modern times did this stupid notion of private public started appearing which the name ib itself is an oxymoron.

How can they kick you out for trespassing while still holding on to YOUR family member?

sirtra 1 point ago +2 / -1

Say that you're really cold and could use a coat.. a white doctors coat. Then just find a stethoscope and walk around til you find her ;) (jokes)

I dont get the rationsle if you were just in a car together. Visiting your Grandma who you may not of seen in a while, sure - still dont like it but can be justified. Not seeing your wife who you were just in a car with.. dont make no sense!

Record them denying you access and why etc. Dont be an ass about just get it on record. It wont help right now, but it could in future to sue.. you never know what could happen.
