I'm sorry you had that birth experience! It sounds so tough! While i don't know your situation, I would argue that having a skilled midwife would have prevented that situation. Out of hospital births with a knowledable midwife are likely to be very aware of baby's position and do everything they can make sure baby is in the optimal position for birth. Midwives who do out of hospital birth are very incentivized to have a low risk and healthy birth. I know it's too late to change your experience, but just want to give some insight for others who may be considering other options. I've done a hospital birth, birthing center, and home birth so I've seen the pros and cons of each option.
