True. In her later years, as the dementia took hold, my grandmother started having flashbacks to her childhood. She ranted about the KKK coming to blow up the house. This was a white woman who grew up in the 30s. She also told stories about helping her best friend sneak into the movies because there was a curfew for "coloreds."

It's amazing how many people don't know about how Biden called Larry Byrd (I think that's his name?), a former KKK leader, a good friend and mentor.

Not only Joe Biden, but both Hillary and Bill Clinton called KKK Exalted Cyclops, Robert Byrd, "A friend and mentor".

And Catholics. The second wave of the Klan, in the 1920s was largely an anti-Catholic campaign.
