As for grant money, I know it is used as a slush fund, with dinners at $200 per plate restaurants written off as lab meetings. Even medicine has changed from evidence based to eminence based, where doctors parrot the same lines as the hospital CEOs and big pharma.
Science is more like a religion now. We are being told such mind f**kery like the George Floyd protests don’t spread COVID or how medicine is systematically racist, and how white supremacy is a public health threat.
