I'm near twice your age, and I'll tell you something... I still remember when I was an undergrad. Campus was full of feminism, gay activism, and the rest. I remember reading "Iron John" by Robert Bly just to fend off the self-hatred of being a man.

One of the real books that helped open my eyes was "Who Stole Feminism" by Christine Hoff Sommers. My feminist professor (who I didn't like) called her a kook. But the amazing part was realizing that I was not the only person put off by their atrocious behavior.

9/11 was another story altogether, with leftists at my campus trying to blame the Jews (me) for the attack.

Some sources that helped me filter out this crap was some talk radio. (I started listened to Michael Medved, Dennis Prager and Hugh Hewitt. Today, I'd only recommend Prager out of those three) And a lot of religious stuff. In my case, it was hundreds of lectures by Orthodox, Chassidic Rabbis from Jerusalem. On the outside, they may seem like religious fundamentalists. But when you listen to them, it's an amazingly rational, logical, ethical system. One of my favorites (who you can find online) was Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb who is not only a frum Rabbi but also a PhD in logic, so when he talks about modern issues: Freedom, Democracy, Free Speech, Homosexuality, he cuts through the crap rhetoric like a hot knife through butter.

Best of all it teaches you how to think, how to analyze an argument. You realize Communists and Leftists work with Confusion. They make you doubt yourself. Like one of the transgender posters I saw on campus. They'll say: "Who are YOU to say that so-and-so is a boy and not a girl?" And you defeat it with the kind of class that Ben Shapiro's quip was when someone asked him where it was written that girls couldn't join the Boy Scouts. "In the name the 'Boy Scouts.'"

You realize leftists don't have good arguments. Their weapons are ridicule, insults, blackmail, nastiness. It's depressing, but you realize what you're up against.

It is depressing realizing that they had their claws in you for so long. But realize, the United States is... (and hopefully, will remain) the greatest country and bastion of freedom in the world. Of course it's going to be the target of the Communists and those who want to bring it down. And they've been targeting before you were born, even before I was born.

This has gone a little longer than I intended. But you've taken the first step. The first step to leaving the prison is realizing you're in one.

Peeling an onion, right? It gets frustrating after a while, just keep getting to the next layer...
