The cause of mass hysteria is the 6 inches between our ears.

That's pretty much exactly what I came here to say. They are the control group that proves the mass hysteria argument.

Some people only use their brains to keep their ears from slamming together...

It's the German genetic stock and their faith.

9
Foolish_Sage 9 points ago +9 / -0

And AMAZING woodworkers. Shit is top notch.

5
TheCandorist 5 points ago +5 / -0

They certainly made the best furniture I've ever owned but now everything seems to be made in Asia and with shit wood. The couple things I bought from them are local lumber, local milled, and they assemble it.

4
dude_bro 4 points ago +4 / -0

Amazing stuff but crazy heavy when it needs to be moved lol. Just moved my brother and we were joking about that haha

4
TheCandorist 4 points ago +4 / -0

Usually not a lot of skimping on lumber to make it. Expensive but it's all shit that will out live me for sure.

IF THERE WAS NO MEDIA WOULD YOU EVEN KNOW WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC?

11
Kavantar 11 points ago +11 / -0

No. I would assume people were converting to Islam.

6
Licensetomeme 6 points ago +6 / -0

Somebody take this man’s chairs so he’ll be forced to do standup.

2
KekistanPM 2 points ago +2 / -0

No. I'd think it was a particularly bad flu season for people who already had preconditions.

RabidZoo 15 points ago +15 / -0

You want to talk to based people? Say 'hi' to your local Amish farmer. Don't have a local Amish farmer? Shit...you don't really live in the country then!

10
BigHandsome91 10 points ago +10 / -0

Been going to Amish stores more lately because theres no mask idiocy going in there.

9
Russianhoneypot 9 points ago +9 / -0

There are some that have gotten diagnosed, but they just break out the natural remedies, deal with it and move on with their lives.

2
The_RedWolf 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean other than rest, fluids, and aspirin all they need to do is protect their elders

In San Diego, all the homeless have smart phones.

6
Stephanie1 6 points ago +9 / -3

And 5g which affects us on cellular level reducing immunity

3
Nat_Libertarian 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is psuedoscience. The only realistic side effect of 5g would be issues with your sweat glands, it can't actually do anything to any other part of your body.

1
Khalaris 1 point ago +1 / -0

Do you have data for that? I heard a lot about 5G and I don't know what is true.

2
Nat_Libertarian 2 points ago +2 / -0

It probably doesn't do anything, but the only way it could possibly do anything is with your sweat glands because the wavelength of 5g waves is the width of the human sweat gland.

1
Stephanie1 1 point ago +1 / -0

These are micro waves. We may not have equipment or tests to confirm all the impacts of 5G on every part of our body. That is not the same as saying definitively it has no impact.

They seem immune to everything. Probably because they bust their asses since they are kids and eat real food. I grew up around them and we have some in our area now. They seem to very rarely veg out. It's all work, school, bible, family, and make some cheddar.

Where I live now the closest grocery store does actually have parking specifically for Amish buggies. See them in there sometimes.

4
Artek 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's the same with upstate NY Mennonites. It isn't rare to witness a child piloting a mini wagon, drawn by a miniature pony hauling half a dozen children down the side of the road just for fun.

Jkend0740 4 points ago +4 / -0

My Aunt had covid and just got out of the hospital in Geauga County Ohio. About 90 percent of the covid patients were Amish. You have to respect their refusal to wear masks and shut down businesses.

2
dude_bro 2 points ago +2 / -0

Buddy of mines 95 yr old gramps died of COVID after his daughter his care taker went to Amish country

It depends on the city but probably 2-3 percent in the county. Places like Middlefield Ohio are closer to 40-50 percent

I'm willing to bet some use TV these days. Some even have computers that don't connect to the internet.

4
RC22 4 points ago +5 / -1

I think if I were an Amish Woman I would be mad, the men get to go off to work all day and use power tools, the women still wash their clothes by hand, no electric allowed in the home.

10
BunnyPicnic 10 points ago +10 / -0

But if you've never known the luxury of electricity, you wouldn't miss it. Ignorance is bliss.

9
ViduusMAGA 9 points ago +9 / -0

They use solar paneled lights and some appliances. It’s more about not being tied to the electric grid and less about using power. They’re OG independent.

3
Russianhoneypot 3 points ago +3 / -0

You’re very discerning! For the most part it’s an accepted way of life, but it definitely can cause ruffled feathers.

2
DrCowboyPresident 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've seen Amish women in full dress and starched headgear driving forklifts.

4
TheCandorist 4 points ago +4 / -0

They are allowed to do certain things based on council edicts. They give on some things but family and community usually take the front seat. If they need it to make a living, ok. If it is going to be in the home, does it disrupt the family? Then no. A lot of them will use electric in their workshops and things like that or accept rides into town to purchase goods and stuff like that. They don't want their kids seeing degenerate shit so no cable or internet in the house and they live a pretty pure live until rumspringa when they have to decide if they want to go English or continue living in their community. Rumspringa is at least normal in the communities I've lived around. I heard not all do it.

2
HermitKidd 2 points ago +2 / -0

The men use power tools now?

3
TheCandorist 3 points ago +3 / -0

Mennonites maybe. The amish here won't even bring a cell phone in the house. They have phone sheds. They will use them when conducting business when working but they don't bring them into the house.

otistoole 1 point ago +1 / -0

I grew up with amish. Some 'cheat'. But they are still awesome

1
RC22 1 point ago +3 / -2

We have a big population here in Ohio, they are allowed to have electric in a business on their property, like a woodworking shop, but not in their homes. How they come to that line of reasoning is beyond me

6
DZone 6 points ago +7 / -1

If I was an Amish girl, I would ask my husband to start a laundromat.😝

Mennonites are unrelated to Amish theologically;. They both happen to emphasize modest dress, but the luddite approach to morality is exclusively Amish.

3
675-EVIL 3 points ago +3 / -0

They are both Anabaptists though. Also have same high fertility rate which is awesome because they double in size in less than 20 years. I recently read that next century, over half of Americans will be Anabaptists, i.e. White Christians. Libs will reee forever.

675-EVIL 1 point ago +1 / -0

Very true. In fact, white Evangelicals are the only relevant group with increasing birthrates in the US. The decline of white overall fertility has stopped thanks to them and is projected to rise. All minorities have plummeting fertility rates and are now below replacement level. Around 74% of all newborns are white acc. to the CDC, far more than the left wants you to believe.

2
RabidZoo 2 points ago +3 / -1

Who are you to judge them?

1
Jkend0740 1 point ago +1 / -0

Also in Ohio. My Amish neighbors have regular electric in the workshop and a gas generator in their home

3
winsome 3 points ago +3 / -0

Manafort's tweeting big thanks to our POTUS. Before that his last one was in 2016.

2
The_RedWolf 2 points ago +2 / -0

Amish probably are handling it something like this

“Joshua you feeling okay?”

“Just a bad cough.”

“Well why don’t you get some rest today, don’t need you getting worse”

“That’s a good idea.”

1
KekistanPM 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you're physically active and outside a lot, that can go far in helping build your immune system.

If you're inside all day binge watching TV and eating a very narrow diet...you're not getting those benefits.

1
winsome 1 point ago +1 / -0

And the homeless!

1

😄😄😄😄

1

They also don’t use the internet.

1
Triptrop702 1 point ago +1 / -0

They might not even know they are immune, because they probably don’t use Twitter either.

1
Margincrew 1 point ago +1 / -0

What do Luddites know? Sheesh.... based on cash flow and community maybe something
