Except the right thing to them is solidifying their power/position. And they believe the deep state will win and continue carrying out fraudulent elections, and they want the fraud to be in their favor. Which is why they have to go too. Even the ones who aren't working for uniparty/deep state are useless, self-serving losers who don't deserve to lead their dogs around on a walk, let alone be leaders of the greatest country on Earth.
