Obviously long enough for his FBI handler to build his trust.

Long enough to advise on the construction of the energetic materials (very important that there is evidence of the "extreme right wing terrorist" buying the materials.

But the FBLies always stuff up. They drive the terrorists to that cartoon competition, only to find that it is being guarded by armed off duty LEOs. They had to hand deliver two of the MAGA bomber's "Bombs" when he stuffed up posting them on time. I'm not sure they ever recovered the Tannerite or the last 7.62 rifle the shooter purchased after the Vegas incident.

So what would they have stuffed up this time? My guess: the sound system, audio track and timer. Many people could put that gear together, but they will have picked and nurtured someone with no evidence of AV, computer or electronic skills. Because they're the FBLies, and they're fucking usless.

Sounds like their guy no-showed / bailed / decided not to hit the real target whatever that was.

This is actually a fair question to ask.

Their "MAGA bomber" wanted to be sure that the bombs he posted weren't real.

Whoever this was, also didn't want to kill, hence their insistance on a warning system. So this indicates someone who wasn't a complete political fanatic. Some who could easily have second thoughts. (Someone who might have a "Gary Powers" moment and not trust that the U2 camera system self destruct would go off "after" he ejected). Someone who didn't fully trust their handlers.

That RV is well-equipped judging by the rooftop array.
