Hey everybody, the handshake says the Bible is commie propaganda. Time to burn them all!

Though I don't agree with him entirely, you're being disingenuous. He never said burn Bibles - he lists translations that have been provably corrupted & references specific Scriptures he believes. That's a call to defend the integrity of Scripture, not an attack on it. Scofield introduced the idea of a pre-trib rapture, despite nearly 2k years of Christians believing 1) we will live through the Great Tribulation (3.5 yrs of Antichrist, then the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet, then approx 3.5 years of extreme persecution of Christians), 2) then be raptured, 3) then God pours out his wrath on those left on Earth (the trumpets & bowls/vials...

Many new churches took the false teaching of a pre-trib rapture & base their entire eschatology off it, which leads to pretty serious error. The soteriology of those churches is often fine, but their bad eschatology leads to complacency & when you realize it all traces back to Scofield & the likes, the infiltration of the church becomes clear. The Synagogue of Satan reference is not wrong.

I don't agree that fighting is the clear scriptural command for us, especially given the prophesies in Revelation are inescapable. But...we have a duty to country as well, which is where fighting comes in.

Well, to be fair, there are many different schools of eschatology with different thoughts about the rapture/tribulation timeline.

Most schools of thought do include a coming rapture and tribulation and short period of peace (in whatever order).

There are some legitimate schools of thought that believe the rapture, of sorts, has already happened and that the tribulation took place during the days of the Roman empire. It’s actually pretty compelling to read. You can actually make a fairly good case that both the rapture and tribulation took place already and that we are merely awaiting the return of Christ.

Many intelligent eschatologists have written about the possibility that the rapture and tribulation were markers and warnings given to people contemporary to the book of Revelation.

Some have laid out a case, not that I necessarily agree with it, that the mark of the beast was about the Roman empire and Nero in particular. And that the near destruction of the Christian Church was the tribulation that was discussed. Fascinating stuff.

It’s fun to be open minded enough to consider someone else’s viewpoint for five fucking seconds. Try it sometime! You know, without dramatically declaring that they want to throw out and burn the Bible. I can’t believe the left thinks we are ignorant and close minded. Whatever gave them that impression?

He literally called the rapture “commie propaganda.” But I’m close minded.
