Possibly secondary goal depending on who was behind it, but looking at the facts and personal knowledge of the street in question, the main target was unquestionably the att data center. I want to know what was in there they hoped to either destroy or obtain in the confusion or even if they had a reason to try to destroy communications in the south East, even with minimum damage 911 is still out going up into Kentucky and people are having spotty internet and cell service at best with att.
Edit: honestly because the media aren’t playing up the att outage angle more than giving out backup police numbers is making me more suspicious of this being only a FF.

It was first and foremost an attack on communication infrastructure.
Doesn’t mean they won’t use it as an excuse to do exactly what you’re saying, though.
