I don't trust Patrick Byrne at all. He's also been wrong many times on major things. Just the other day he tweeted Patrick Cippolene was fired. Then retracted it 30 min later. Then claimed Sidney was made special prosecutor - this came out to be false too.
But they're already planning on doing this. Why would you wait for a "go" from Trump, and why would you wait until after they've gained the position to actually do so?

Senate Justice Committee requested he go after the corruption in DC back in 2006(no one was calling it Deep State back then they just knew something was wrong), because he had previously gone after corruption on Wall Street.
Wrote letter basically giving him near immunity for crimes committed in this ongoing, and secret, action - short of murdering people.
As he tells it - somewhere in the DoJ that letter is sitting in a safe that basically lets him do things like help bribe Clinton and get Obama's cronies Brennan and Clapper implicated in high crimes - and he wont be charged for them.

Recognize that a massive disinformation campaign is being waged by all involved. I find it hard to believe that people truly in the inner circle are fighting with Trump about anything right now.
