"Happy Holidays" isn't any better. Holiday means Holy Day. This assumes someone celebrates SOMETHING and that it is a Religious SOMETHING.

In truth, they'll get rid of "Happy Holidays" once "Merry Christmas" is gone.

The term 'Holiday' itself comes from the Hindu Holi tradition.
