Babies, toddlers and very young children are missing key milestones for picking up social development cues in identifying emotion and in language development because of mask wearing. Hiding half a face while a brain is growing and learning and visually REQUIRES being able to pick up cues from studying faces and emotions (in addition to watching mouths move to mimic speech) is damaging children.
Children need to be out in the world, learning from each other and other people. Interacting only at home isn’t enough. Speaking as a parent who adopted a child from an Eastern European orphanage who has difficulties today a decade later with speech because opportunities to interact, watch and mimic adults and peers were limited, the accrued damage with this lockdown and mask farce with respect to our children makes me furious more than ANYTHING else.

Just to balance out your experience, I've had both influenza and the COVID, and the influenza puts me out for three days. I was achy for a couple days and had a fever for six hours with COVID. YMMV
