Socializing including in close quarters is actually beneficial for the purpose of strengthening the body’s immune response because the exchange of germs including viruses and bacteria serve as the necessary challenges that our immune systems have evolved to adapt to.
What’s important for the public to understand is that those falling ill almost universally have underlying causes such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease, etc. which are almost consistently due to chronic inflammation caused by sustained and prolonged ingestion, inhalation, injection, and/or absorption (via skin or mucous membrane) of inflammatory chemicals, pollutants, medications, vaccines, and/or foods.
It’s also important for the public to understand that a diet rich in raw (preferably) or lightly cooked (steaming is best) fruits and vegetables is required for an optimally functioning immune system. Cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts are crucial. Also very important: nuts, milk (and/or lots of sunlight), fish, eggs, mushrooms. Grains should be whole and not refined. All foods should be minimally processed if at all. Fructose especially should be avoided. Petroleum-derived skin and hair products should be avoided. If unable to meet these requirements, supplementation should be used. Supplements including vitamins should be based on whole foods.
Some key immune “boosting” (modulating) supplements are:
Vitamin D3 (get one with vitamin K)
Vitamin C
NAC (n-acetyl-cysteine)
Zinc
Quercetin
Stage 4 “REM” sleep (obviously not a supplement but perhaps the most important)
Chronic inflammation results in one or more sustained immune responses for too long which results in both immunodeficiency, auto-immunity (killing healthy cells), and almost every known disease. Flus/covids, colds, etc. resulting in hospitalization are not the result of a particular strain or variant of a virus but rather the immune system’s inability to maintain balance and mount an appropriate response thereby allowing many viruses including coronaviruses including sars-cov2 to overwhelm the system.
The immune system is an intelligent system that uses error feedback loops to maintain homeostasis, not unlike a vehicle engine. When one or more inputs are deficient or excessive, the system adjusts to maintain peak operation. When one or more inputs are deficient or excessive for too long, the engine will eventually fail (out of fuel, overheating, etc.) which can also result if there is a problem with the error feedback (failed/malfunctioning sensor, etc.)
Regularly fasting (no food, water only, maybe a little salt of you get lethargic) for a few days straight after eating and sleeping well for a week or so is perhaps the best way to balance and strengthen the immune system.
Hiking in wooded areas is also important as there are messenger chemicals and other molecules in those environments that seem to “prime” the immune system for future challenges, without the dangerous side effects of unproven vaccines.
So eat well, sleep well, socialize, get sun, fast, and take a hike!

On a more scientific standpoint and because this is my field (endocrinology) improper nutrition leads to hypothyroidism which causes many mental diseases. You wouldn’t believe the kind of progress that’s routinely seen in psychiatry patients who receive proper doses of T3. Then again setting the metabolism back on 20yo mode is powerful beyond belief but mainstream medicine doesn’t support that! Bunch of clowns we’re fighting every day with their SSRIs and what have you.
