I think they’re more concerned with cleaning up evidence at his house. Why did he give his house away a month ago? Is guy even alive? How do we know this guy didn’t die of COVID months ago & have his house used as a CIA safe house?

Well, yes, they cleaned up their mess. They also have identified a scapegoat for this explosion, too.
The explosion gave them the excuse they needed for access, I'm guessing.
We have good reason not to trust anything the FBI tells us. They recently commuted treason for godsakes.
