I was getting six letters a day in my mail telling me I was paying too much for my mortgage if I was paying over $350 dollars. The pressure to get out of your fixed rate mortgage and go to a short term mortgage and put a huge sum of cash in your pocket was huge. While I blame the banks for encouraging this short sighted behavior, some of the blame falls on the good people of this country who also succumbed to greed. Then when it became inevitable, instead of doing the hard work of buckling down and paying your bill, many people just walked away, further exasperating the problem. And then the fucking bailouts that rewarded the banks...
Remember when the blast in beruit a few months ago caused the people to storm the government buildings with rocks forcing their prime minster and his cabinet to resign....with rocks.
This is what the USA needs. A complete and total turnover of all politicians, long term appointees, and upper management in the government departments.
