Don't waste your money. Millfuckee or dewilt are still better than cryobi. Home depot recently had a sale on the milwaukee 7-9" angle grinder with 8 ah battery for $250.

I spend a lot of time at race tracks otherwise I'd just use corded and pneumatic.

I went with makita for a couple reasons. The shop I used to work for, everyone had Millfuckee, and to decrease the chances of my tools growing legs, I got the Makita in anti theft teal. No one else had that so it was easy to spot the thief.

The other is when I was growing up, my grandfather had almost exclusively Makita tools and were very reliable and had many a hot supper. Guess I was fond of the brand.

I like makita. I build race cars at home and when I started out I had a mix of dewalt and makita. I settled on milwaukee when I switched to li ion because their impact was the best consumer model at the time. The pro bosch and hilti are really nice too. My dad had all makita and hilti. These days I troll ebay for old snapon/wright/armstrong/sk tools. I'm probably going to move to the countryside and give up racing to get into an experimental bush plane.

Garage forums has a great thread for buying the tools snapon rebrands, e.g knipex.

Knipex pliers are the shit. I have a pair of cutters and adjustable pliers and they were well worth the investment.

I was going to get a hilti but they (at the time) didnt have a 1/4 impact and when I was working at the dealer, 1/4 inch impacts and 3/8ths were king. I got the Makita on sale before christmas, $99 came with tool, battery, charger and bag (brushless too) and I bought a bit set which came in handy as well.

I kinda do the same thing at flea markets and garage sales, I see snap-on, mac, matco, etc I try to buy what I can. Im not wrenching now, but I hope to be soon.

Pliers-wrench changed my life. Adjustable wrench that actually works and you can use them to straighten out or bend sheet metal.
