The 5.56/.223 round is a .22 that goes really really fast. Look at the FPS, 3,060 that’s enough to defeat some of the lower grade body armor. Speed beats armor and this round is fast. With it being that fast makes it effective in a small package which means you can carry more ammo without having more weight. More ammo = more dead commies
